Los Angeles Hyperion Treatment Plant as one of the Top 10 Projects
of the 20th Century, joining a distinguished list of projects that
included the Panama Canal, Hoover Dam, Golden Gate Bridge, Tennessee
Valley Project, and the Interstate Highway System. |

most of our time together.
• Before signing up for an interview, review
the requirements on the Civil
Engineering Associate job bulletin.
• Allow enough time before the interview to fill out a short
application form.
• Bring your transcripts with you (preferred), or be prepared
to fill out a Supplemental Form, which indicates the core engineering
courses completed, detailing the name of the school, course, credit
earned, and grade received.

What to Expect in the Interview
• The Bureau of Engineering interview panel
consists of two people.
• Interviews usually take about 30 minutes.
• The interview will include questions written in advance
that will be asked of all interviewees. Based on your response,
there may also be related follow-up questions.
• The interview is considered part of a civil service exam
process.
After the Interview
•
You will receive the results of your interview in the mail.
• Depending on the number of job openings and your score,
you may be contacted by a representative from the Bureau of Engineering.
