History
Fire Station 59 is located at 11505 Olympic Blvd and was constructed in
1963. The station houses a Paramedic
Assessment Engine Company staffed by 4 Firefighters.
Based on a study of operational needs, the
Fire Department is seeking expansion of the existing site for construction
of a 6000 square foot apparatus storage building and a 2,500 square
foot multi-purpose room.
Unique to this facility is its oversized parcel and the existence
of a Drill Tower.
Reason
for Project
The location and size of this property
offers an opportunity to establish a Regional Facility within the West Los
Angeles Community. Placement of such a
facility at this location will enable the Department to achieve its goal
of creating a Regional Fire Station network in the West Los Angeles area.

Department historical incident data have been used to project resource
workloads. It is projected that the number of responses will
increase 11.2% for apparatus assigned to Fire
Station 59 by the year 2010. |

Community Planning census information indicates that the population for
the West Los Angeles area has increased steadily and is projected to
increase Population to 83,331, which is an 9.20 % increase by the year
2010.
