City of Los Angeles High School
Engineering Competitions |
Overview
|
The Bureau of Engineering has
a strong desire to positively shape the future of the City
of Los Angeles. In this respect it is important to expose
our students to the technical and administration fields
that drive the City forward.
The City of Los Angeles High School Engineering Competitions
give students an opportunity to apply technical theories
to hands-on projects, and the concept of team work.
The Bureau of Engineering along with enthusiastic LAUSD
administrators and teachers collaborate to unfold the annual
series which has been set for two competitions for 2006-2007.
Volunteer City employees serve as mentors to high school
classes. Groups meet during class, after school, or on weekends
to design and test the model projects.
Each project culminates at an intramural competition. All
participating schools converge at the host school's campus
to compete, against each other for prizes and recognition.
Some competitors have chance to compete at international
level. |
