On March 27, 2018, City Council approved a Memorandum of Agreement between the Bureau of Engineering (Engineering) and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), which allows Engineering to begin the Silver Lake Reservoir Complex Master Plan process. The planning process is being led by Engineering, with the support of Council Districts 13 and 4, and in coordination with LADWP.
The Master Plan will guide improvements and protection of the reservoirs, and seek to balance its historic character, its use as a community gathering place, its strategic location within the Silver Lake community, and its unique blend of both functional and recreational spaces.
The Master Plan process will take place over a number of years. The first steps in the process will support the hiring of a consultant and the development of the project scope of work.
