PREFACE
Part H of the Manual covers the various aspects of structural design. It presents the
structural design criteria, standards, policies and procedures to the Designer of Public
Works structures. These are intended as guidelines. Each structural project should be
considered unique. Although the criteria listed herein should be followed insofar as
possible, they cannot supplant the need for the application of sound engineering judgment
by the Engineer.GENERAL PROVISIONS
H 100 INTRODUCTION
General responsibility and function; standards; codes and
specifications; cost studies; advance planning; structural design process; plan
preparation, checking and processing procedures; permits; structure inspection and
maintenance; and computer applications.
