The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering, in partnership with Council District 11 and in collaboration with the local community, has begun the Potrero Canyon Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge Project. This project will develop a pedestrian and bike bridge to cross the Pacific Coast Highway and safely connect the City’s new George Wolfberg Park to Will Rogers Beach, transforming the area into a vibrant and accessible space.
This project is a key part of the City’s broader initiative to support the connectivity and accessibility of recreational areas and enhance the quality of life for local residents and visitors through active transportation modes. The project will also be designed to emphasize environmental stewardship and the beautification of the landscape, aligning with the City’s goals of sustainable and responsible development.

- Landmark Aesthetic and Recreational Value
In late 2023, the project entered into the environmental planning and design phase. A Project Approval and Environmental Document (PA&ED) will be prepared in accordance with state and federal laws, including the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The public will be engaged throughout the development process and provided opportunities to share input on the process and evolving bridge design.
